From my last post “The role of a Mentor”. I defined a Mentor as one that makes out time to run through a Mentee’s progress on a certain activity and points out the competencies that should be developed in order for the Mentee to meet better results”.
The following are benefits of having a Mentor:
No cost : You can get a mentor at no cost at all. Whatever you are pursuing in life, there is always someone around you that has passed through that phase and can share their experiences with you, which can serve as a guide.
Saves time: An early involvement of a Mentor is key when looking to do something and faced with certain challenges in the process. When attempting on your own and with your own understanding it takes a longer time to finally figure things out or most times you might have attempted severally and lost a lot of man hour or opportunity , when it would have taken you less time if only you had involved the right person.
Better results: Involving a Mentor helps you get much more better results. As I find joy in mentoring people, I also have my mentor because I cannot know it all. I still seek opinions from successful bloggers, experts within and outside my profession.
Learning and Development: Mentoring is an avenue to derive more in learning and self-development. It is an interactive session where by the Mentor helps in areas for the Mentee to develop and share what is necessary for the Mentee to consistently put all that has been learnt to work to meet certain goals or outcomes.
This approach for me is an easy way and quick way to make results. Please feel free to leave a comment and subscribe to my blog below.
